This Candle is the Scent of Summer Sunsets

We create this candle almost a month in advance and we were hoping by this time the temperatures would be going down, not up. It’s the 6th of March and the temperatures are in the high 30’s. Anyway our concept for this month was based around the end of Summer, we wanted to draw out the feeling of a hot summers day. Lounging on a deck chair, watching the sun go down. That's why we chose Summer Sunset as our candle of the month for March. So while the sun is still just as hot in the sky we hope you’re somewhere cool reading this and enjoying it’s scent.

First, let's talk about the container.. The jar for this candle is half, half. White on top and gold on the bottom. We wanted to mimic the colors of a sunset, when the sun is so bright the sky almost pales to white. When you light the candle, the glow from the flame enhances the effect, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere in any room.

But the real magic of Summer Sunset lies in its scent. Unlike most summer candles that rely on the usual fragrance notes of coconut, pineapple, and citrus, we wanted to create something more complex and unexpected. That's why we blended notes of rockmelon, earl grey tea, ylang ylang, rosehip, and magnolia, to create a fragrance that's both tart and floral, sensual and refreshing.

The rockmelon adds a juicy sweetness to the mix, while the earl grey tea provides a subtle bitterness and a touch of sophistication. Ylang ylang, known for its aphrodisiac properties, adds a creamy and floral note that's both calming and uplifting. Rosehip and magnolia round out the blend with their delicate and feminine aromas.

When you light Summer Sunset, you'll notice how the scent evolves over time, as different notes become more prominent. In the beginning, you'll get a burst of rockmelon and tea, followed by a more floral and powdery aroma at the heart. The overall effect is warm and inviting, but also sophisticated and unexpected.

We think Summer Sunset is the perfect candle to transition from Summer to Autumn, as it captures the essence of both seasons.
